Handmade with crochet hook & silai in India · 100% slow craft
Our story · The Atelier
Where every piece begins with a single loop of wool.
From a quiet corner table in India to the braid you dress up on a festive morning. A story of slow hands, cold cups of chai, and hair accessories made to be kept.
01 / The beginning
A hook, a basket of wool, and slow evenings.
SaPrié did not begin with a business plan or a factory floor. It began at a corner table in India on crisp winter afternoons, sitting by the window with a cup of adrak chai going cold, a wooden basket of tangled wool skeins, and an aluminium crochet hook.
Most hair accessories in market shops were mass-stamped plastic or stiff metal clamps that pulled on fine strands and gave people headaches. I wanted hair pieces that felt gentle, tactile, weightless, and warm against the scalp—something you could slide above an ear or pin into a festive juda, knowing every petal was shaped by patient hands.

Raw material
Variegated wool in saffron, rose, and sage resting in a hand-carved wooden bowl.
The discipline of the craft
Four promises in every stitch.
01 / Loop by loop
Counted Loops
Over 70 counted stitches per petal using a 2.5mm hook, tensioned so each flower keeps its firm arch without internal plastic wires.
02 / Slow hours
3 to 5 Hours
A pair of bloom clips takes three hours; an intricate bun pin with swaying tassels can take five. No shortcuts, no assembly line.
03 / Knot by knot
Zero Glues
Pearls and wooden beads are bound with double-twisted thread knotted into the textile core. No hot glue guns that dry and crack.
04 / Natural palette
Colours of Home
Inspired by marigold garlands on Diwali, mehendi mornings, and winter shawls. As the yarn unspools, no two blooms turn out alike.

Macro detail
The tight spiral centre of a Marigold bloom: loop over loop, woven by hand.
02 / Anatomy of a piece
Thoughtful down to the back of the clip.
Beauty on the outside is only half the work. We wrap the steel snap clip in a soft textile base before mounting the petals, ensuring cold metal never touches your hair or pulls when unfastened.
On our bun pins, the polished wooden sticks are lightweight enough to stay comfortable through full day weddings and celebrations, while the hand-strung baubles sway gently without dragging down your hairstyle.
A note for you
From my studio table to your hair.
When an order arrives, each piece is checked under natural light, wrapped gently in butter paper, and tucked into a stitched linen pouch sealed with our wax stamp.
I make these pieces for quiet mornings, festive gatherings with family, and days when you simply want to wear something that someone took hours to care for.
I hope you feel the care in every loop.
